Christelle obtained her PhD in environmental Sciences from the University du Quebec à Montreal, Canada in 2011. She applied U-series isotopes in the Arctic to study oceanography and paleoceanography at GEOTOP research center. Later on she moved to the Atmosphere and Oceanic Research Institute of the University of Tokyo, where she extended her expertise on U-series in different environments (river water, groundwater, coral). In 2013, she joined the Academy of Sciences, Humanities and Literature (Mainz) and GEOMAR (Kiel) in Germany as researcher. Her research at HKU will focus on the utilization of U-series isotopes and radiogenic isotopes in oceanography and paleoceanography.

Benoit received his PhD in environmental Sciences from GEOTOP (Université du Québec à Montréal, Canada) in 2011 and moved to AORI (University of Tokyo) to study coral reef biogeochemistry. In 2013 he was jointly appointed as a researcher at the Academy of Sciences, Humanities and Literature (Mainz) and GEOMAR (Kiel) in Germany where he studied the oceanography and biogeochemistry of the Siberian shelves in the Arctic Ocean. Benoit research at HKU will mostly focus on nitrogen cycle in nearby coral reefs, Pearl  River, South China Sea and the Pacific Ocean.

Welcome Christelle and Benoit!
