This study aims to modify the DRASTIC vulnerability parameters using the AHP method (Analytic
Hierarchy Process) which has been featured by twenty seven water quality samples collected from
West Aceh. In the early part of this study, DRASTIC model was used to predict groundwater
vulnerability, but the results revealed to be unsatisfactory especially in two parameters comprised
depth to water table and topography. Therefore, we intended to modify the mentioned two
parameters via AHP method in this particular research study. The result of modification has proven
that DRASTIC index varies from 104 to 176 intervals. Hence, groundwater vulnerability index in West
Aceh ranges upon 3 levels, which are ranging from moderate values of 104 to 128; meanwhile, high
moderate values ranging from 128 to 152 and the latter high values from 152 to 175. It is concluded
that 22.22% of the actual study area contains at moderate index value, whereby 29.63% is at high
moderate index value and finally 48.15% showed intense high value. Apparently, this study area
clearly indicates a high vulnerability towards contamination.
