The Charks Gold Belt, Eastern Kazakhstan, hosts a series of Mid-Late Paleozoic orogenic gold deposits and is one of the most important gold metallogenic provinces in the world. The North Kostobe gold deposit in this belt is selected for this MPhil. Project. The talk will include an introduction to the deposit geology and presentation of progresses in the study of ore mineralogy and future work. The main goals of the study will be to provide an insight into gold formation in this world class gold province and will yield information for guidance for future mineral exploration in this region.
